The XDP X260 Series Head Stud Kit XD3009HS is a must have for your high-horsepower 2001-2016 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM/LML. The XDP head studs are the ideal upgrade for any high-performance, racing, or sled pulling application.
These studs are more durable and will not stretch like the factory bolts. The X260 Series head studs feature an upgraded 260,000 psi tensile strength to ensure the cylinder heads on your engine stay locked in place under higher combustion pressures.
In addition, the threads are rolled after heat-treating to provide optimum fatigue strength.
A conventional bolt gets twisted as it is tightened, so it reacts to two different forces at the same time. With a stud the force gets applied to the vertical axis, resulting in a more even clamping force which allows you to obtain a more accurate torque reading.
These studs are a must-have for high-horsepower applications and are reusable, unlike the OEM Torque-To-Yield (TTY) bolts which must be replaced after each use. Another benefit of studs is they provide easier engine assembly and proper alignment of the cylinder heads every time.
These studs are manufactured in an ISO/TS 16949 quality control facility. For a hassle-free installation, each set includes installation instructions. Assembly lubricant sold separately.

Tech Tips:
XDP Thread Cleaning Chasers (Sold Separately):
Both the XD40124TC and XD40128TC are a great add-on that will be critical during installation. Thread Cleaning Chasers are an excellent tool to have on-hand to ensure you have properly cleaned the threads in your engine block before the installation of any fasteners. Clean threads provide accurate torque readings and will help give you peace of mind during your engine build or head gasket repair.
XDP X-TRA Slick Engine and Fastener Assembly Lubricant (Sold Separately):
The use of XD541 is highly recommended during engine assembly. Apply XDP X-TRA Slick Lubricant to head studs, head bolts, main studs, main bolts, connecting rod bolts, and any other fasteners used during engine assembly. Using a proper assembly lubricant during fastener installation reduces friction and torque pre-load scatter in the torquing sequence, while also helping to prevent thread galling and seizing.
